David and Leilani Leyland have owned and operated Bees Neez Apiaries Producing quality honey since 1982David and Leilani Leyland have owned and operated Bees Neez Apiaries Producing quality honey since 1982.  Their business is based in Beechina, 6kms from Chidlow in Western Australia. They maintain 700 hives travelling up to 80,000kms per year, working the coastal banksia heathland as far north as Kalbarri in winter, east to the pastoral and goldfields areas working the eucalypt honey flows at various times of the year.  Also working the traditional honey flows of the Jarrah and Wandoo forests of the Darling Range. We also breed queen bees and have packaged bees and nucleus hives for sale.

All the honey is processed at Beechina in a quality assured processing plant.

You can view the honey being extracted, by appointment, although this is seasonal.

School Incursions - If you are studying bees and would like us to visit your school we are happy to do so.  We will bring a hive (no bees), some equipment and some honey tasting bottles.  We do a brief 15 - 30min talk on bees, our business and the industry in general then the students can taste the different honeys.  We also bring a small 60gm jar of honey for them to take home.  Cost per student $3 (min $50 charge).  You are also welcome to bring your students to us (no charge).

Our gift shop is open every Sunday from 10am until 4pm for honey tasting and sales.

Honey is packed in bulk and sent to Wescobee for local retail and export sale. Honey is kept in small quantities for packaging under our own label at various local outlets throughout the Perth hills (see outlets page)  We do have Jarrah honey and we also make creamed honey.

There is no wastage from the beehive, every product is useable.

No antibiotics are used to treat disease and no chemicals are used in the production of our honey.

Minimal heat is used in processing. Resulting in a product as pure and natural as nature intended it.

Approx 3 tonne of Beeswax is produced and sold each year.

6 - 8 tonnes of pollen are produced some years, which we on sell to a local business in Gidgegannup that dries and packs it for sale. Lip balms and beeswax candles are also available.
